Dude, yank the pump and just premix if you care about your motor. If you are cranking along at 5K rpm and your pump dies, you will smoke your motor before you can even get her shut down. It makes no sense to me to spend time and effort to fix & that will ultimately be a problematic piece of crap. But hey, it's your motor

First thing remove oil injector and manual mix. It’s to late when you realize it ain’t working A buddy locked his 200 up because a simple line broke. He lubed entire putter motor instead of inner miter !! On take off trim all the way down or it cavitates The alarm system can be oil or overheating. Your reservoir has to be all the way full or it alarms low oil

@Mustie1 You should lightly grease the woodruff key and a little dab so it sticks, the plates need lightly greasing, along with the impeller and both splines. Don't grease the top of the drive shaft, any grease above the spline should be wiped off. It's easier if you put the impeller in first before installing upper housing. You don't need grease on the gearbox housing. Also, it's easier if you put the water pump rubber boot/seal and plastic sleeve on the pick up tube first intead of installing it in the water pump housing, otherwise you can cut the seal and crush the copper pick up tube or plastic sleeve like you did. To line the drive spline up, turn the propeller. By the way, the rubber seal you slid over the water pump once it was installed is not supposed to be there, it's more than likely the lower water pump housing oil seal. I would suggest to take the gearbox back off and remove it from there or it may cause problems. You're welcome.

1:05:47 That's not for anti-corrosion, it's your outboard balance trim tab. Your bolt is too long because it's supposed to have a lock washer on it.

Merc makes a bottle with a pump for putting the oil back in the drive. All you do is pump till you see the lube come out the top hole. Also, the reason your drive would not go together at the end is because the splines were not lined up, if you look at the video at some point you turned the prop and thus the splines aligned. We have a merc I/O and when I change the impeller I always remember the first time and it not going back together.

THANK YOU, MUSTIE1, for your pretty work on the outboard motor. My Dad taught me a kewl trick, I'll pass on to you...get an 1/8" welding rod for each of the tubes you're going to use, ( to fill up your lower unit). Bend them as follows...Bend half into. Then, 1" from the bend, bend to 90 degrees. Then, 2 1/2" from that bend, bend a 90 degree bend so you have a zig-zag crank with 2 open ends. Slide the flat of your lower unit lube tubes into the opening, as close as possible, to the crank handle and tape onto it with electrical tape, and tape the tips of the 2 rod ends so they don't spread. Prop the tubes up, with the tips already trimmed, within easy reach. When you insert the tube, in the foot, hold the tube (holding onto the foot and onto the tube), and "Crank the oil in. The cranking action makes the tube shove most of its contents into the motor. Your left hand has been holding the tube up to the foot, so put your left thumb over the hole and your holding the crank handle, pull the tube out with what you're already holding and get another one. Pull your finger back and insert the tip and crank away...repeat as necessary. When lube comes out the top hole, insert bottom plug screw and top plug screw. Run a screw down in the tube that's not emptied and tape with electrical tape. Doing it this way, it's quick and you don't waste much oil. Hope this helps a BUNCH of folks THANKS AGAIN, MUSTIE1 Bill, from Tn. 🇺🇸
