Ahhh the Beauty of the “junk pile”. The old Briggs motors are still going. Had a lawnmower given to me years ago. Person said their lawn was too rough. The Briggs motor had no compression so I check and saw a valve was stuck open. Took the head off cleaned up the water damage at the exhaust valve which was minimal. Lapped valve in. Noticed no marks at all on the barrel and asked the person had it run. They said tried it once over the lawn and turned it off. Never started again. That was 1982 and now 2021 have taken the head of to adjust the valve stem as compression got low. Still fires up with a couple of pulls. I have put two carb gaskets and kits thru her over the years. This is not the first Briggs and Stratton I know that has run for so long. Also the oil changes are not regular but kept an eye on. I think that is the major problem with these motors as nothing seems to go wrong with them unless you don’t maintain them. My mower has the upright motor bore and is a cylinder mower. Liked your video with your dedication to get the results you wanted as we all wanted. Nice to note how the carbs adjustment was as you set in the beginning which that tells me the mixture needles and seats have not worn. Nice 👍

I always strip the spark plug wire jacket back about 1/2" and fold it under so it's tight between the wire jacket and connector and then crimp it tight. the piercing piece is more to keep it from pulling out than a connection path, but it will connect there also. I learned to always do that on vehicles and motorcycle ends, except the thread on ones.
